Zoning requests for two more casino plans OK’d
Two more development teams trying to become the manager of a state-owned casino in Wyandotte County cleared the county's planning and zoning hurdle tonight.
But discussion of a third proposal, from the Las Vegas Sands Corp., continued late into the night with action by the Unified Government's Board of Commissioners not expected until sometime Wednesday morning.
The Sands' proposal faced a steep challenge: it needed eight of 11 votes from the board because the Unified Government's Planning Commission last month recommended against approving its application. Read more
