Sands CEO takes first trip to Bethlehem
Billionaires rarely find reason to second-guess themselves, but as Sheldon Adelson toured the ruins of the Bethlehem Steel plant, he couldn't help but feel pangs of regret.
The Jewish immigrant grew up in Boston and even worked as a 15-year-old at a traveling carnival in Allentown, but he'd never found his way to Bethlehem until Tuesday.
''I think I missed something very special by not seeing it while the plants were operating,'' Adelson, chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., said of the half-demolished buildings. ''But we will rejuvenate them and make them a place this area can be very proud to have.'' Read more
